I had so much fun with my buddy Grant yesterday. We were cruising around the city with my camcorder filming a bunch of stuff for a new multi-media poem project I'm doing. I'm going to start writing the music for it today and picking out poems that I'll be reading. I have a very simple concept in mind, simpler is usually better, "less is more" and all that jazz. Let's see if I can stick to my plan without veering off into left field with some crazy hair-brained idea.
Also, I'll be judging a giant submission pile of Missouri high school poetry today to advance a few to a national teen competition being held in New York. This will be my first time on the "other side of the fence" and I will be forced to reject some kids. I am actually not looking forward to this experience, but I'm getting $50 and all the free coffee I can drink. Also, I'm hoping to get a glimpse into the mind of an editor/contest judge so as not to just blindly hate them for the rest of my life.
I think I'll post a poetry vlog soon. I haven't done one in a long time and it might be fun to post here under my blog. Hope everyone's having a "baller" weekend.
